Siemens ships new MRI scanners in U.K.

Siemens Healthcare of Erlangen, Germany, has begun commercial shipments of its two newest MRI systems in the U.K.

The Magnetom Aera 1.5-tesla and Magnetom Skyra 3-tesla MRI scanners feature a 70-cm open bore designed to accommodate a variety of patient sizes, while the open appearance is designed to reduce sedation rates by minimizing anxiety for claustrophobic and pediatric patients.
