Elekta awarded Russian contracts

Swedish oncology firm Elekta of Stockholm has received orders from Russia for its Axesse whole-body robotic image-guided stereotactic treatment management system.

The purchases were made by the Meshalkin Research Institute of Circulation Pathology in Novosibirsk and the Hertzen Moscow Oncology Research Institute in Moscow.

Elekta Axesse will be delivered with Elekta volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), which is designed for enhanced treatment time and targeting of radiation dose.
