Swedish PACS and digital mammography vendor Sectra of Linköping has signed a five-year contract with Region Skåne to manage and archive the entity's radiology images.
Sectra will replace an existing PACS with its own technology at university hospitals in Malmö and Lund. Sectra estimates the contract's value at 30 million kronor (approximately $4.2 million U.S.).
The agreement includes an option to connect other radiology departments and nuclear medicine and cardiology imaging units in the region.
Region Skåne is a regional public body responsible for health, medical, and dental services. It includes 10 hospitals that conduct more than 900,000 radiology examinations annually.
