VIENNA -- GE HealthCare (GEHC) is featuring its Freelium sealed MRI magnet platform, Revolution Vibe CT scanner, and a wide range of AI technologies at ECR 2025.
Freelium is designed to enable MRI scanners to operate at less than 1% of the helium used in conventional magnet technology -- with no additional cooling or power requirements, according to the vendor. The new platform represents the evolution of GE HealthCare’s Intelligent Platform Magnet (IPM) technology.
Twenty sensors have been installed in Freelium to enable remote monitoring of the magnet, facilitating automated magnet protection and recovery -- without needing intervention by a field engineer, GE HealthCare said. What’s more, it will be compatible with the firm’s AI software.

Freelium will be available in the near future, according to the vendor.
CT
GE HealthCare is also shining the spotlight on Revolution Vibe, the latest addition to its CT portfolio.
Revolution Vibe features a wide range of cardiac imaging capabilities, including GEHC’s Unlimited One-Beat Cardiac imaging as well as the vendor’s ECG-less Cardiac, TrueFidelity DL, SnapShot Freeze 2, and Effortless Workflow AI technologies.
In addition to cardiac imaging, the super-premium scanner can also handle other applications, such as musculoskeletal, neurology, and other types of scans, according to the firm. Revolution Vibe has received the CE Mark, but has not yet garnered U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance.
Ultrasound / Women’s imaging
In ultrasound, GE HealthCare is presenting the latest edition of its Invenia automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) system. Invenia ABUS Premium features the use of AI and enhancements aimed at helping to better detect cancer in women with dense breasts, according to GEHC.
GE HealthCare has also brought its Senograph Pristina Via to ECR for the first time. Introduced shortly before RSNA 2024, Pristina Via includes zero-click acquisition functionality, no wait time between exposures, vendor-neutral prior image comparison, and low radiation dose for all breast thicknesses, according to the vendor. It also incorporates enhancements to minimize repetitive tasks and streamline workflows for mammography technologists, GEHC said.

Molecular imaging
Also announced at RSNA 2024, GE HealthCare’s Aurora dual-head SPECT/CT system is making its European debut at ECR 2025. Aurora features GEHC’s Revolution Ascend CT technology and includes a 40 mm CT detector and a 75 cm wide bore, as well as deep learning-based image reconstruction and other workflow enhancements, according to the firm.
GE HealthCare is also directing attention to nCommand Lite by Iconic Health. The software, which was initially announced at RSNA 2023, supports remote collaboration and scan assistance for MRI, CT, and PET/CT scanning.
The company also pointed to its recent investment of $138 million in a new contrast media manufacturing facility in Cork, Ireland, and positive results from a phase I trial of its macrocyclic manganese-based MRI contrast agent.
Sustainability
In sustainability efforts, GEHC reiterated its goal of cutting Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and Scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030 compared with its 2022 baseline emissions. It hopes to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
