Densitas highlights research at BSBR meeting

Medical device firm Densitas said two research studies involving its DM-Density automated breast density software were presented at this week's British Society of Breast Radiology (BSBR) scientific meeting.

In a poster presentation, a group reported the software yielded excellent agreement with a consensus assessment of breast density on mammograms by expert radiologists, according to the company. In addition, a podium presentation described how breast cancer risk models that incorporate mammographic density, along with patient age and first-degree family history of breast cancer, may be practical for estimating a women's individual risk and identifying those at higher risk who should receive additional follow-up screening, Densitas said.
