Former ESR president Prof. Dr. Bernd Hamm has become the sixth editor in chief of European Radiology. In an exclusive video interview recorded onsite at the Charité in Berlin in late December, he reveals how he plans to build on the successes of Prof. Yves Menu and his team. He shares his vision of the future, gives advice to authors, and speaks about the journal's rejection rate and open-access policy.
In his first European Radiology editorial posted on 2 January, Prof. Hamm, who is director of the department of radiology and medical director CC6, wrote about navigating the challenges and opportunities in a new era. He is convinced that the evolution of AI represents a positive development for radiology and needs to be embraced.
