Artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Qure.ai and Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, have launched a new AI research center.
Called the AI Innovation Centre for Medical Imaging, the program will initially perform research on AI-based detection of abnormalities for infectious and noninfectious disease conditions. The goal of the initiative is to understand potential use cases for AI in Europe and to provide guidance for clinicians on how to best adopt AI to meet their requirements, according to Qure.ai and Erasmus.
The research team will include multiple radiologists and doctoral students over the three-year partnership and will focus on the use of AI for chest CT, radiography, and brain CT exams.
