Ahead of this month's ECR, we caught up with leading researcher Prof. Marion Smits, PhD, to find out her latest thoughts on social media. She also elaborated on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as other hot topics in radiology.
Smits is professor and chief of neuroradiology at Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and chair of the ESR Research Committee. She is senior fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), fellow of the European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology (ESMRMB), and honorary member of the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR). She is chair of Research & International Relations on the board of the Radiological Society of the Netherlands (NVvR) and past chair of the Brain Tumour Group imaging committee at the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). In 2021, she was voted Most Influential Researcher in Radiology by the AuntMinnieEurope.com judging panel.
