The U.K. Society of Radiography (SoR) is highlighting the doctoral path of Martine Harris, PhD, of the University of Bradford in the U.K.
Harris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in diagnostic radiography from the university in 2003, a postgraduate certificate in CT in 2006, and a Master of Science degree in clinical research methods at the National Institute of Health Research in 2015.
For her doctoral degree, she conducted a study that used "multiple methods to develop a competency framework that articulated the roles of assistant practitioners and qualified radiographers of different expertise levels," the SoR said.
"Not only does [our model] identify what we need to know when we first start working in CT, but it also sets out the development opportunities, leadership and specialized practice at higher levels," Harris said in the SoR statement.
