The U.K. Society of Radiographers (SoR) has published guidance outlining the roles of consultant, or advanced, radiographers and sonographers.
The guidance, titled "Consult Radiographer -- guidance for the support of new and established roles," includes information on job planning, a training framework, illustration of impact, and sample job descriptions.
The SoR said this guidance aims to support development of a cohesive, sustainable workforce for consultant radiographers and sonographers across the country. In a statement issued on 22 September, it added that this will help provide job satisfaction for staff and aid with recruitment and retention, as well as improve patient care, experience, and outcomes.
