The Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM) will mark International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February with an event to be held at the National Museum of Science and Technology of Milan.
The event, organized by SIRM's Women's Radiologist Commission, is titled "Women: An Engine of Progress," and it will highlight the experiences of women who have achieved success in their scientific fields and offer help and support for young women embarking on their scientific careers.
One issue to be considered is the protection of scientific intellectual property rights of women, who often still encounter environmental and systemic institutional barriers in pursuing their own achievements, the society said.
