The U.K.'s Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) has updated its series of national site-specific radiotherapy consent forms to help physicians ensure that patients are fully informed when consenting to radiotherapy.
Primarily, the design and layout of the consent forms has been updated in response to feedback from a recent RCR survey on how to improve their usability for both clinicians and patients. Side effect information has been streamlined where possible, for instance.
In addition, six new forms have been developed with input from site-speciality experts and patient groups to cover lymphoma, palliative, gynaecologic cancer, and pancreas, the RCR said.
Welsh translations of all the forms are also in development and due to be published later this year. To download a form, visit the RCR's website.
