The RSNA said that it received a three-year, $750,000 (639,000 euro) grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to develop a new Global Learning Center (GLC) in sub-Saharan Africa.

The RSNA announced the GLC program in 2019, and it launched its inaugural GLC at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa earlier this year. Once a host site is selected for the second GLC, a team of RSNA members will work with the center over a three-year period to develop a customized educational plan, including a curriculum with hands-on training, didactic lectures, conferences, online courses, and other education offerings, according to the RSNA. Equipment and technical assistance will also be provided.

RSNA team members will also travel to the GLC to learn about the site's educational needs, present lectures, hands-on training, and point-of-care opportunities, the society said.
