The European School of Radiology (ESOR) has released details of its courses for the autumn. Also, ESOR is promoting an educational exchange in Latin America.
The course topics include cardiothoracic imaging, the imaging hallmarks of cancer, a multidisciplinary approach to cancer imaging, and body imaging biomarkers.
ESOR also reintroduced foundation courses to prepare and assist those entering examinations for the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR). Three cycles of courses at different times a year are organized at the European Society of Radiology (ESR) Learning Center in Vienna.
In other news, ESOR is poised to step up its presence in Latin America in 2017, as part of the ESR's wider mission to promote education and increase engagement with the region's radiological community.
Next year will see an intensified presence of well-established activities in Latin America, such as the fifth edition of the ESOR AIMS Mexico Program, organized in partnership with the Sociedad Mexicana de RadiologĂa e Imagen and the FederaciĂłn Mexicana de RadiologĂa e Imagen. The two seminars, Imaging in Thoracic and Abdominal Non-Traumatic Emergencies, will be held on 26 April in Mexico City and 28 April in Puebla.
Additionally, the Colegio Interamericano de RadiologĂa (CIR) and the ESR have combined efforts to organize the Joint CIR-ESR/ESOR Course on MR Imaging from Head to Toe, taking place in CancĂşn on 8-10 June.
The ESOR visiting professorship program Colombia will take place for the third time next year and is being organized in partnership with the AsociaciĂłn Colombiana de RadiologĂa. Two courses will be organized, one as a precongress course to the national radiological congress in Cartagena, Colombia, on 2 August and the second course will take place in Bogotá at the ESR office Latin America on 6 August.
The program will be expanded in 2017 to include a first-time initiative in collaboration with the Sociedad Argentina de RadiologĂa and the FederaciĂłn Argentina de Asociaciones de RadiologĂa, DiagnĂłstico por Imágenes y Terapia Radiante. The ESOR visiting professorship program Argentina on Abdominal Imaging will take place in Mar del Plata, Argentina, on 3-4 November 2017.
