Siemens gets European OK for Dade Behring buy

Siemens Medical Solutions announced that it has received approval by the European Commission for the acquisition of U.S.-based laboratory diagnostics company Dade Behring.

Erlangen, Germany-based Siemens expects the purchase to close on October 31. Antitrust clearance from the U.S. government was granted on September 17. The transaction is valued at approximately $7 billion.
