Strike action: Organizers claim success

The French National Federation of Radiologists (FNMR) is highlighting the success of the national strike day that took place on 10 November.

About 80% of practices were closed with the intention of alerting patients to the consequences of new cuts being imposed on medical imaging. These cuts come from tariff reductions imposed by the Caisse Nationale de l'Assurance Maladie (CNAM) and measures integrated into the Social Security Financing Bill (PLFSS) for 2026.

The FNMR said these cuts will have a negative impact on the extension of access times, practice closings, and barriers regarding innovation and delays in diagnosis.

The FNMR is calling for the suspension of the tariff reduction measures and withdrawal of Article 24 of the PLFSS. It is also calling for the immediate opening of negotiations with the goal of moving away from a "strictly accounting approach" and building a multiyear plan toward investment, innovation, and access to care.
