Smith & Nephew has launched a new handheld imaging device for measuring the surface area of wounds.
MolecuLight i:X uses fluorescence to gauge wound parameters and visualize harmful bacteria, helping clinicians guide sampling and debridement procedures and monitor treatment. The device is approved by Health Canada and has the CE Mark for sale in the European Union, but is not yet available in the U.S., the company said.
