September 13, 2021 -- The European Society of Radiology (ESR) intends to highlight and support young residents in radiology at its annual meeting, to be held in Vienna in March 2022.

The society has invited more than 11,000 radiology residents to ECR over the past two decades for its Invest in the Youth program, contributing more than 6.8 million euros to this effort, it said. For ECR 2022, the ESR will offer free meeting attendance for 1,000 residents. It will also offer free registration to 100 radiographers as part of its "Shape Your Skills" program.

Both programs are open for application until 10 October. Interested participants must submit a research abstract and be ESR members. The scholarships will also include free lodging.

ECR 2022 will also feature the launch of the ESR's SMART (Scientific, Multidisciplinary, Advanced, Responsible, Tailored) initiative, which is designed to offer improved technological features for the gathering, the society said.

Further details are available on the ESR website.
