Prominent radiologist dies of COVID-19 in Kashmir

May 4, 2021 -- Dr. Mustafa Aslam has become the latest radiologist to die as a result of contracting COVID-19. A news report about him was posted online on 2 May by Kashmir Life.

Aslam died on 1 May at the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar, Kashmir, the news outlet reported.

Aslam earned his medical degree at Government Degree College in Srinagar. A resident of Sanat Nagar Housing Colony, also in Srinagar, he established a radiology clinic in Batamaloo in 1989, which he ran until 2018.

The clinic was one of the oldest radiology establishments in Kashmir, but for the past two years, it was closed because of the owner's eyesight problems, noted the report.

Aslam is survived by his wife, anaesthesiologist Dr. Khalida Aslam, and a son and daughter, according to Kashmir Life.
