Siemens launches reporting software

Siemens Healthcare has launched a new Web-based software application designed to make it easier for radiologists to communicate reports to referring physicians.

Called syngo.via WebReport, the application is designed to give physicians access to reports and 2D/3D images via a secure Internet connection and a standard Web browser. Referring physicians either inside or outside a hospital who are granted permission-based access are able to see reports residing on the department's RIS or syngo.via advanced visualization software platform.

WebReport began shipping in February, and it is being offered as an optional add-on module for syngo.via users. Installations are scalable depending on the size of the facility, with pricing based on server size and the number of licenses needed. The software supports PC and Macintosh computers, and is available on Apple's iTunes as a downloadable app for Apple mobile devices like iPads and iPhones.

The software is not designed for image diagnosis; Siemens provides its syngo.via WebViewer software for physicians like radiologists who require Web-based image viewing.
