The annual congress of the French Radiological Society (SFR), les Journées Francophones de Radiologie (JFR), will include a special focus on sports imaging, featuring nine sessions on different aspects of the subspecialty, the organization has announced.
Sports imaging sessions will cover cardiac imaging, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging, MRI research, and more. The meeting will take place in Paris on 14-17 October.
In each of the sessions, radiology subspecialists will discuss the specifics of sports imaging and clinicians will be invited to talk about their experience in professional sports, SFR said.
Participation in sports has been increasing, but it carries a number of risks that should be prevented to the extent possible, and treated when they occur, SFR said. Risks are quite different for amateurs and professionals, and should be approached differently.
