Aplio beyond features the firm’s iBeam+ imaging engine and a set of new single-crystal and matrix transducers. Canon said it has also included a range of advanced imaging and analysis tools to accommodate different clinical settings.
In addition to having clinical packages and protocols facilitate holistic patient assessment, Aplio beyond features AI-based anatomical awareness, workflow, and decision-support tools to help streamline workflows and increase diagnostic confidence, according to Canon.
Furthermore, Canon is emphasizing the scanner’s modular and sustainable design. Aplio beyond consumes 50% less energy and is 45% lighter compared with Canon’s Aplio i-series. It also comes with recyclable packaging and an upgraded battery option.
CT
Canon is also devoting special attention to its product portfolio for supporting CT lung cancer screening. Its next-generation CT Hybrid Elite mobile unit includes the firm’s Aquilion Serve SP CT scanner, as well as its Instinx AI-powered exam workflow automation capability. The self-contained mobile unit can be deployed to support both stationary and mobile screening services and for public health programs, underserved regions, and urban areas, according to the vendor.

The company has also incorporated its SilverBeam silver-based x-ray beam filtration technology and Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE) deep learning-based image reconstruction software. The combination delivers consistent CT lung image quality with an ultralow dose, Canon said.
In addition to handling lung cancer screening, CT Hybrid Elite can also be utilized to manage temporary patient overflow, fill in during facility renovations, or enable rural healthcare initiatives, according to the firm. Featuring a 2.9-meter-wide design, CT Hybrid Elite has a slide-out system for patient comfort, as well as solar-powered technology and insulation materials to support sustainability initiatives, Canon said.
The company also emphasized the workflow benefits of its approach to lung cancer screening, featuring automated nodule detection with volume measurements and structured reporting tools.
MRI
ECR 2025 is also the coming out party in Europe for Canon’s Vantage Galan 3T / Supreme Edition. Initially introduced in April 2024 and demonstrated at RSNA 2024, the scanner includes Canon’s company’s own magnet design, which delivers an expanded field of view compared with the previous magnet used in Canon MRI scanners. For the first time, the new release features all components manufactured by Canon.
