The European Society of Radiology (ESR) has scheduled a special session to discuss coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at ECR next month in Vienna.
The ECR 2020 event will feature radiologists, pulmonologists, epidemiologists, and virologists from Wuhan, China; Paris; Frankfurt, Germany; Munich; and Rome. The experts will have firsthand experience in imaging and treating patients infected with the novel coronavirus.
The society is still formulating details of the special session, which will cover various challenges that healthcare providers are facing. These will include imaging specificities in patients in acute and follow-up stages of COVID-19 pneumonia, virologic and diagnostic aspects, and how previous outbreaks of similar viruses have influenced current treatment and imaging strategies.
The ESR will grant free onsite access to the session in Vienna, with no ECR registration required, and it will broadcast the session live via ESR Connect free of charge.
