Acerde secures additional capital

French x-ray tube anode developer Acerde has received financial support to help in its growth and product development from a leading medical technology company.

The financial infusion from the undisclosed donor will enable the firm to finalize the development of its products and start large-scale production, with a goal to triple capacity by 2019.

Due to the production of recycled anodes for medical imaging and the signing of development contracts, the company has doubled sales between the first half of 2016 and the first half of 2017, according to Acerde.

Acerde specializes in high temperature chemical vapor deposition (HTCVD) for depositions of tungsten and rhenium. The process results in graphite-rotating anodes that are lighter and allow for enhanced heat dissipation and noise reduction.

The vendor uses the same technology to recycle used anodes for medical imaging equipment.
