LIVERPOOL, U.K. - Perfect harmony doesn't always prevail in a radiology department. Personalities can clash, and given the increasing workloads of staff and growing pressures to improve turnaround times for imaging reports, it's no surprise that people are on a short fuse and tempers can boil over.

Dr. Giles Maskell, consultant radiologist at Royal Cornwall Hospitals National Health Service (NHS) Trust, immediate past president of the Royal College of Radiologists, and AuntMinnieEurope.com columnist, spoke at the UK Imaging & Oncology Congress (UKIO) about managing differences within a team. We asked him to explain how he keeps the peace in his own department.

Also, we recorded an audio podcast interview at UKIO with Maskell about his blogging and how radiology can retain the commitment and enthusiasm of the over-55s. Look out for this podcast in the coming weeks.
