Medical technology company Perspectum and InHealth, the largest provider of diagnostic and healthcare services in the U.K., have announced a diagnostics partnership that aims to significantly expand access to advanced MRI and increase MRI capacity at the Oxford Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
MRI assessments previously available only in London or specialist centers will strengthen support for cancer, liver, cardiac, and diabetes services, the two companies said. The enhanced service at the Oxford CDC, which is run in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is expected to ease pressure on hospitals, shorten wait times for exams, support local clinicians, and boost convenience for patients with respect to commuting distance.
A joint research network is also being established to allow multicenter studies, including the UK Imaging Diabetes Study (UKIDS), to be delivered more consistently and at greater scale.
