EANM 2024 hits record attendance

The European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) has reported that its annual congress in Hamburg, Germany held 19 to 23 October had more than 8,680 participants, the largest attendance to date.

Attendees included well-established experts, early-career nuclear medicine professionals, and students. Highlights of the congress included the Young Professionals Lounge, meetings between EANM Next-Gen recipients and Science Day students, a Meet the Volunteers event, and the EANM Get Involved! Booth, the association said.

Three new EANM board members were elected during the congress:

  • Felix Mottaghy, of Germany, was elected EANM President Elect 2025-2026 (President 2027-2028)
  • Valerie Lewington, of the U.K., was elected EANM Internal Groups Officer 2025-2026
  • Michel Koole, of Belgium, was elected EANM Scientific Liaison Officer 2025-2026 (second term of office in this position)

In addition, Uwe Haberkorn and Adriaan A. Lammertsma were awarded Honorary Membership of the association, EANM noted.
