Siemens Healthineers has installed its Magnetom Free.Max reduced-helium MRI scanner at King's College London (KCL).
The system has a field strength of 0.55 tesla and an 80-cm bore and requires less than 1 liter of liquid helium, and it can be used outside of a traditional hospital environment. The system also makes use of artificial intelligence for automation.
KCL has an existing relationship with Siemens Healthineers with research projects utilizing other MRI systems including 1.5-tesla, 3-tesla, and 7-tesla MRI systems from the company.
