The German Roentgen Society (Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft, DRG) has awarded the Albers-Schönberg Medal to Dr. Thekla Oechtering from the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein.
The award is given to members who have made an outstanding contribution to radiological interests. The society said Oechtering was recognized for her commitment to young radiologists and the establishment of the youth organization Forum Junge Radiologie in the German Roentgen Society. The forum tailors DRG training for young radiologists and encourages involvement in the DRG as well as their own interests.
Oechtering became the representative of the resident doctors on the board of the DRG in 2017. She also has a teaching position at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Further details about the award are available on the DRG website.
