Siemens Medical Solutions of Erlangen, Germany, will launch an electronic patient record (EPR) system for Rhön-Klinikum, a private German hospital network, the company said.
Siemens will link 46 Rhön-Klinikum facilities representing more than 1 million patients with its Soarian Integrated Care (Soarian IC) package, providing software for the WebEPA, a European e-health project jointly developed for data exchange between healthcare facilities throughout Germany.
Siemens' package will include reports, images, and medical data, a tool for consultations between physicians, and a master patient index (MPI), Siemens said.
