The Irish National Cancer Screening Service's BreastCheck program is ordering 29 full-field digital mammography (FFDM) units as part of its plan to improve access to mammography services in the country.
BreastCheck is ordering the systems from three vendors: Hologic of Bedford, MA; GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.; and Sectra of Linköping, Sweden. The tender offer is being split roughly between the three companies.
BreastCheck has already begun ordering systems through the program.
