French x-ray component supplier Thales Electron Devices has expanded the production capacity of its Trixell digital radiography (DR) division at the unit's facility in Moirans.
The company has just brought online a new automated production line, as well as an expansion of clean rooms to 2,000 sq m. The project cost more than 15 million euros, according to the company.
With the expansion, Trixell will increase its annual detector production from the current level of 4,000 units to 7,000 units by the end of 2007, and to 10,000 or more units by 2010. The expansion will help the company meet the growing demand for DR sensors, Thales said.
