The integration of radiology information systems (RIS) with picture archiving communication systems (PACS) is becoming a defining trend in the European RIS market, with sales of RIS systems expected to increase as a result, according to a new report by market research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.
The report from the San Jose, CA-based firm notes that the market earned revenues of $125 million in 2006 and could reach $181 million in 2013.
The report adds that the European RIS/PACS market is driven by large-scale investments in bundled product offerings and healthcare IT initiatives by the governments of the various European countries.
