Robotic technology developer Hansen Medical of Mountain View, CA, has begun shipments in Europe of its Sensei robotic catheter system.
The company shipped the first Sensei products to one of its European sales distributors, the firm reported. Hansen has also established a European subsidiary, Hansen Medical U.K., and has hired the first European sales representative, with direct sales responsibility in the U.K. and Benelux countries.
In other news, the company reported financial results for its first quarter (end-March 31). The company did not generate any revenue in the period, and generated a net loss of $8.6 million, compared to a net loss of $5.1 million in the same period the year before. Hansen said it expects to receive clearance for Sensei from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the third quarter of this year.
