German imaging specialist Morits of Rostock has received a grant from the German Ministry of Economy and Technology to develop a new computer-aided detection (CAD) tool for CT and MRI.
The tool, which the company is calling Structured CAD, is scheduled to take place over the next two years. The goal is to construct a module with a self-learning technique to make it possible to segment and classify anatomic structures in 3D CT and MRI volumetric datasets. The company also hopes to offer radiologist the ability to generate structured multimedia reports automatically.
Morits is part of telemedicine and teleradiology developer Image Information Systems (IIS) of London.
