Buoyed by a 44% hike in European sales for its radioisotopes, nuclear medicine products firm Ion Beam Applications (IBA) posted sales growth and greater profits in 2006.
The Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, firm grew sales by 25% to $221.4 million (U.S.) in 2006, compared with $176.9 million in 2005. Net income climbed to $39 million in 2006, compared with $3.9 million the previous year.
Sales within IBA's radioisotope manufacturing and distribution business rose 44% to $85.9 million in 2006. The company's technology and equipment segment posted sales of $135.5 million last year, a gain of 15% over 2005 numbers.
